No Pride: End of the Year Special

Image
Yeah, no, nothing special really. Just the usual post, rant, musing, or what have you. For anyone who might not know who I am or what I'm about , let me try and do my best. I've always had a passion for writing. I used to keep journals when I was younger and writing has become very cathartic for me. Suffering from General Anxiety Disorder and Severe Depression is no picnic, but writing helps me, a lot. This doesn't make me Mark Twain or Stephen King. I do not suffer from delusions of grandeur. I can only hope, one day, No Pride or any other of my projects , might actually become something bigger and I can actually say I'm a blogger or writer, who gets paid for the things I create. Also, I ramble. I don't even try to hide this by saying, "Well, sometimes I ramble.", no. I ramble . A lot. I try to edit posts and everything I write, to the best of my ability, but I'm no editor, either. To anyone who came here expecting a riveting thesis (more o...

The Self-Fulfilled Prophecy

Image
Recently, a local news article about an apartment maintenance superintendent's alleged sexual assault was posted and shared throughout the local community on Facebook. The article itself is borderline fear mongering and overly detailed because it involves a man sexually assaulting boys. The article itself isn't the only issue. The amount of incredibly hate-filled and violent responses posted in the comment section are too many to count. The comments below are unedited. Some comments include detailed descriptions of graphic violence, inhumane treatment, and torture. ***Trigger Warning*** - Headline should read " Local Child Predator Found Dead In Ditch". End of story. - They need to take him out in the woods! Strip him, nail his nutsack to a stump & pour syrup around them& watch the ants come running! - Somebody that does something like this there is no cure for them they are sick in the head might as well take him around back and s...

Single and Sexless

My relationship status is single and sexless. I would like to see social networking sites add this to the list of available options. I feel as if we're on the brink of a lot of different revolutions. Politically, economically, and especially socially. With gay marriage now being legal on a national level, the LGBTQ community is currently in the process of building an entire generation of children who will know what it is like to have a new plane of acceptance in their lives. We don't have to continue telling select teenagers they won't get to express their love through marriage. The scope of acceptance has already opened many doors to new sexual identities, orientations, and roles. Living in an era of caffeinated ADHD style entertainment, the constant barrage of impulsive decision-making, singular wants and necessities, and the overall erosion of monogamous ideology in relationships brings an interesting new perspective to the LGBTQ community. While many LGBTQ ...

I honestly can't remember the last time I had sex. Living in Alabama presents a whole new level of challenges commonly overlooked or completely unknown to others who haven't had to live the experience themselves. Even in this day and age with a long list of "dating" apps, it hasn't become any easier for me. I had accounts on Grindr, GROWLr, Scruff, and Surge for about 4 months. After being unsuccessful with going out on one single date during this time, I completely gave up on the dating scene, again, and deleted all my accounts and apps. I want to have connections, friends, and even more, but it just isn't working out well. Of course, I have "red flags". Ones I don't hide behind at all. I don't have a paying job, I still live with my parents, and I'm your typical, mostly uninteresting, video game playing, "grown man-child". Most of these issues, are ones I can overcome, in time. I'm currently working on severa...

Thank You

I have a strange "love/hate" relationship with Reddit, I talk about it often on, " @ntisocial " if you're interested.  I haven't been a Redditor long but, I find myself constantly unsure what to think of it all. However, today I have good reason to share some Reddit love. I started this blog not too long ago and I suddenly found myself not able to fully promote it. It contains adult material, so Google doesn't allow it to be posted on my public profile. I didn't want to promote this blog through Twitter, as it is connected to my Facebook account and therefore, my family, which, most of them are aware that I'm gay but, I could care less about sharing these kinds of stories with them as I'm sure it would only upset them and then be used as ammunition against me. That leaves me with very few options. A few Reddit moderation teams have been kind enough to allow me to promote, "No Pride" on their subreddits. I would like to thank all...

Edited: 02-28-2018: Grammatically and Readability Edited: 06-03-2018: Grammatically and Description _________________________________________________________________________________ My perspective as an openly gay man living in an uber-conservative, non-metropolitan area is, the LGBTQ community is not really a community. I would describe it more as a group of people who just so happen to share a very small piece of common ground. Friendships and sometimes even relationships are built upon this one piece of information but, I haven't had the luxury often. At the beginning of 2017, I was crushed by rural isolation. I reached out for friendship, companionship, just about anything through whatever means the internet offered. I was attached to Skype for a while. I only found a handful of people to talk to. Some of them I was interested in, even sexually, but it never really went anywhere. I took a hiatus from Skype because one contact, in particular, was extremely to...
